
Jim Baird, CPA, CFP®, CIMA®, Partner is the Chief Investment Strategist for Plante Moran Financial Advisors and serves as a member of the firm’s Research and Investment Committees. In that capacity, his expertise includes the development of investment strategies, portfolio construction implementation solutions, manager searches and due diligence, performance reporting, and authoring a variety of market commentaries and investment research papers. In addition, he provides commentary to the press on a regular basis related to investment consulting, capital markets and issues relevant to wealth management and has been quoted on CNNMoney.com, Reuters, and Bloomberg.
Prior to joining PMFA, Jim spent five years as a member of Plante & Moran, PLLC’s Assurance group. He’s also certified as an investment management analyst by the Investment Management Consultants Association, which involved coursework and an examination taken at the Wharton School. Jim is one of only approximately 5,500 people nationwide to hold this prestigious designation. Jim received his bachelor of business administration degree from Western Michigan University. His professional affiliations include the Investment Management Consultants Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also actively involved in his local community.
